For a knocked-out adult tooth, hold it by the crown rather than the root, and keep it in milk or inside your cheek until you reach us, because a tooth replaced quickly has the best chance of survival. For a broken tooth, keep any pieces and avoid chewing on that side. For swelling, do not apply heat.
